    Them what the point in Atlas? Sings on Interstate a bid enough!:)

    Atlas doesn't 't tell you to exit one earlier due to the next ramp is closed, which can cost extra $$ to drive around.

    I always liked the Garmin.

    The trick you had to do on longer loads was you did your route and saved your trip.

    You would then do the trip in. Checkpoints.

    By God if you had it go into recalculating and you had 1300 miles to go.... Well....you are probably going down some different roads.... Maybe in a different state. After it spent 10 minutes calculating that route as you are trying to navigate 4 interchanges or ramps.

    So definately use the trip planner feature ;)

    Garmin 100. % i use it on the boat and I've thrown away the R McNally it just really poor quality.

    That is what I did when I first started. Only flaw I've found is that when your at the destination town, you can't really know what the truck legal route is until you get there.. since the atlas doesn't have zoomed in maps of small towns.
    That's where contacting the shipper for directions helps.
