Has anyone seen this type of placard before?

Fill in the blank environmental.
A lot of overseas containers lose placards over ocean anyway.

 

Number one it is not displayed properly; the black needs to point up.

The US has departed from the international HM by offering a Limited Quantity exemption that allows the shipper to declare the items limited quantity due to the amount in each package taking domestic shipments off the HM table and removing the need to placard, describe on papers a HM and use a HM endorsed driver for such products a bottles of perfume, corrosive cleaners and a 1001 other HM products packaged for consumer use in amounts unlikely to cause catastrophic damage to the environment.

International shipments require this plane jane placard looking to all of us like someone didn't finish the placard. We do an export of US cleaning and sanitary products to Africa and had the first LQ shipment turned away cause they were mounted like the OP picture,

Most of this came from a Covid 19 generated list of items you shouldn't wash your hands with.....

BUT considered 'SAFE' enough for dish washing and the potential for a catastrophic loss is minimal so the LQ description fits. The placard is needed for maritime transport and required outside the US so not needed for Puerto Rico but needed for the boat ride.....

 

So this is the international version of the "ORM-D" sticker?

 

Sorta...ORM - D but by the nature of packaging deemed to be such a limited quantity to be of little hazard and need zero HM compliance to transport in the US but the rest of the world wants to know. There still can be ORM's that are still placarded due to the quantity packaged.

 

It is not a placard, it is a marking regulation. It is the new Limited Quantity marking.

There is no more ORM-D.
