Old revolver has been carried a lot. Finish is worn off end of barrel and edges of cylinder.
    Was your granddad left handed?

Both, but he always made us swap to right being handed when we were small, told us it was a right handed world.
Back then it was, he’s been gone since 88.

Still a view that's totally worth it, IMO.

One of the service plazas on the ITR is named after him. It's got a write-up about him near the door.

IIRC it's the second s/p wb from the OH/IN line. Couldn't swear to it in court, tho....

So here is a collage of sorts of the work bench. I know its still a mess. I got as far as the middle window.

Oh I got the flywheel onto the engine finally. Tried to install the two stage clutch. Nope I cant fudge it. I will have to use an alignment tool.
But the bolts are torqued to 75 foot pounds and they have had the ears hammered in place.

Getting closer to bolting it all back together. No bench test because of the hydraulic pumps. Going to have to trust my skills as a mechanic. (oh god)

Well, now that I've finished 15 pages of catching-up reading, I have some questions and comments.

I went to Commie Annex East (Albany, NY) this past week, got home yesterday.

The sign posted on every s/p entrance door on the Thruway says masks are mandatory statewide, no mask/no service.

$2000 fine to the business if they don't challenge you/notify local law enforcement to compel compliance.

$2000 fine to you, if you're gonna press the issue.

I still think it's ########, but I'm "going along to get along". Our company sprang for our cloth ones, anyway. No biggie. Certainly not $2000 dollars worth of biggie.

@Dave_in_AZ Mrs Skillet wants to know if:

    1) Is the OM male or female? (I couldn't remember)

    2) Does the OM have another name besides "OM"?

    3) Does canned ravioli give the OM "atomic flatulence"? (HER words.)

It was a crisp 55°F in Western NY with a nice breeze. Some of the trees are going lighter green. Can't wait for the fall colors.

Dayton OH approaches the mid 80s today, with dog breath humidity, probably due to last night's tain.

That's all I got 'til I finish my soak......

I think right around 62 mph is the sweet spot for my engine, seems to run best there. Its just hard to get a good gauge running in the mountains... for what its worth my Mpg gauge was at 7.8 mpg before i got into those switchbacks and by the time i got to the jobsite i was down to 7.3. All in about 5 miles or less and 800 or so miles on the total trip meter. thats how big those mountain pulls are  but this is not a public road , it is in a gated community and those are residential streets, lots of dump trucks coming in n out to the jobsites.... if im going down empty and run into a loaded truck. I will back up if nobody is behind me.. There is not much traffic on the road itself but just enough to make it a pucker factor coming around some of the turns . Not for the faint of heart !

    1) Female
    2) Mincy
    3) No atomic influences.
