Good day! I work for a carrier in dispatch. Many times over the last few years we discuss retention programs, etc. I've never been fond of sign on bonuses as sure, it incentivizes someone coming in the door but what bonuses or programs should be rewarded for long-term contractors?

Contractor of the Month program may hit 1% of the fleet over the duration of the year and many nominees go with that recognition and rewards associated.

Saying that, and asking the owner operators sitting in their cabs across the country, what would be (or currently offered by your company) something you'd like to see?

Unsure if I've broken rules but no direct solicitation here. I was asked to provide some ideas but I'm just a guy manning a computer. You guys could probably speak best...

Every single person in the office should have atleast a few years of actually driving the truck...

What exactly does your company do to retain dispatchers and other employees......and how is that working out?

    Nice Equipment, Good. Correct. Pay.
Being Left Alone, you should know how to make delivery without wanting to know every mile marker that’s been passed.

I agree but not many truckers want to hang that up to be in the office these days. I'll at least take dispatchers humble enough to not pretend they know better.

Your guys' pay is dependent on the drivers' performance much more than your own.

Separate the incentive structures and place more on dispatchers so that the pay and bonuses actually reflect the team label, instead of the drivers receiving all the negative feedback for half of the screwups.
