The clutch on my 2016 VNL is starting to slip after only 420,000 miles. The shop claims these clutches are non-adjustable and needs to be replaced. I've never heard of a non adjustable clutch before. Any truth to this?

Very possible if original probably no adjustment or self adjust clutch.
freight shaker Thanks this. -
Might be a stupid question but is it a hydraulic clutch? The company I work for has a new Pete with a hydraulic clutch and it's non-adjustable too
freight shaker Thanks this. -
Being hydraulic or not does not determine if a clutch is adjustable. Type of clutch (self or manual adjust) does.
Goodysnap and freight shaker Thank this. -
Yes. Hydraulic assist.

Volvo recently told me I have a non adjustable clutch but I took it to a mom and pop shop and this dude adjusted it in 30 minutes. He said the forks are sideways and it was a ##### but he got it to a half inch and it feels way better.

I've heard the eaton solo clutch (self adjusting) can stick and stop self adjusting. there is a reset procedure from Eaton. I've also heard doing some clutch pops will have get it moving sometimes if it is stuck. like when in neutral, press the clutch all the way to stop the transmission and then slip your foot off, letting the clutch pop. do this ten times or more.
Eaton assumed the solo clutches would be driven with drivers double clutching and would keep them free and adjusting. If you float and are easy on the clutch it can get stuck from lack of use/adjustment.
As far as I know my solo clutch is original and is still hanging in there with 780k miles on the odo.
