"The T680E has an estimated operating range of 150 miles, depending on application. It uses a CCS1 direct current (DC) fast charger to charge the batteries in about 3.3 hours."

Ouch!. I can't see even many day cabs job that only do 150 miles in a shift. Even a lot of p&d ltl guys drive more than that....

Peterbilt salesmen sent over an email 2 weeks ago to see if we wanted to trade our two Hino’s for the medium duty 220EV with a 200 mile range I think it said. In that email he mentioned that orders for the 579EV have begun. It has same powerplant specs and range as the KW. Needless to say we declined.

D.Tibbitt, spsauerland and magoo68 Thank this.

I saw a story where the Wilson trucking company (the one leased on with Prime) has ordered a bunch of electric vehicles from a different manufacturer...it seems that the baby steps to all electric trucks has begun. But still say it'll be decades or longer before anything is capable of OTR distances

I saw a brand spanking new electric truck with giant decals declaring zero emissions. It was on 90 eastbound between Seattle and Spokane.
It was on a trailer behind an old 379...
    I almost died laughing!!!

    The Amish have been building eco-friendly vehicles forever...although, I wouldn't say they're 0-emission

zero emissions no way can these trucks be Zero Emissions. They need to get the stupid pill out of there heads. Everyone of these trucks. Some parts of it was delivered by a diesel burning truck. The power that they will run by. You got it emissions are made in that power some how some way. Even if its solar, guess what. Those panels caused emissions to make. Wind power same deal a truck had to haul those things.

They will have 0 Emission autos and trucks. The same time someone invents that power source. That runs on noting, and puts out a million watts from nothing.
