your right the smaller ones are better, I liked the terminal in New Mexico most the DM are former drivers when I was OTR that made a huge difference, when I went local it went to #### fast even though I was workin out of Lancaster terminal I had people who dispatch me from Phoenix, Arizona. Worst part they send me shipper screw off 3 hours because the staff expect me be able find there trailers throughout Dallas and go pick up a load go to Muskogee ok expect make it back. finally had enough and called it only regret with swift was leaving OTR when I went from good driver manager to bad it makes a huge difference.

I would tell people find elsewhere for local like LTL, tanker i hear it pays good too not saying wont run issues but its what your willing put up with.

Professional company? define that because I see UPS, FedEx, RL carriers, Trimac transportation. and there drivers doing all kinds stupid stuff one Trimac driver was watching a video while driving.....

My point you be at the best company don't mean your crap when you do stupid stuff that would change a life in a sec. I have yet see a good FedEx driver not saying there's not just never witness one they are like a unicorn for me. RL carriers drove through a solid red light missing a car by inches just recently.

There's always bad drivers we all see them all the time doesn't even matter the name of the company.

    Hello,
I’m looking to start Swift as a new driver sometime around November 11 to the 15th of 2020. If it’s possible, can you tell me truly what to reallyexpect with this company when I start my truck driving journey. I don’t want to go in with any false hopes or expectations I just want to be able to gain my OTR experience and then start up on my own as a solo driver and do really well for my first year. What should I be looking for? Any great feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated during these tough times. Thank you.

Actually, I had a great attitude the entire time I was with them. I always looked out for the company's interests and proactively worked to solve all problems rather than complaining about them. I ran as efficiently as possible the entire time. The end results were still garbage.

could you tell us your terminal your going to maybe we can point you better ones because haveing a good or bad driver manager can make all the difference. I recommend Albuquerque,NM for OTR any them would be fine but mine was Mike Young great DM. maybe one the others could point some others out. I can say Lancaster, texas terminal was terrible all them except one she was a knight though so there's that.

What would be your professional opinion of these 2 terminals?
    1) Edwardsville, KS
    2) Oklahoma City, OK

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

You know what? I drive nights a lot and don't encounter the newbies that are being trained and the megas so much. But let me tell you this, if you all think that drivers pulling for fed-ex, ups, or others are some sort of Gods Of Safety you are kidding yourselves. I had to seriously back off a tin-can with every #### placard that man has come up with to avoid an accident as he drifted over into my lane. Just the two of us. And no, It wasn't a road rage incident. He just drifted over. I bet that jerk off is on here talking about newbies. God knows what he was hauling. I bet if we had kissed our rigs and had an accident, I would be some sort of mutant in the new Marvels film.

Steve did really well in the beginning went from company driver to lease rather quickly and made good money. Treat it like a business. Then his brother died, well so many family members died that year and his lease was up. He went elsewhere trying to be closer to home and me and the kids OTR is harder with a family. He came back taught then did another lease, then Daniel almost died and they got him home fine but started shafting him on miles after. His heart also isn't in it. He looked at his teenager and thought if he died the last 6 years I wasn't home and in his life, like his brother passing it's a wake-up call. They gave him an out on his lease, So he found another local gig. Like the OP trouble, Swift isn't the only job to promise something and screw you. But it can work and plenty of long term members here make it work.
