I am behind you 100% on the sentiment but it's wrong to give to people money. The vast majority are not doing it for the reasons they tell you. It's either just a scam to not work or it's a way to fuel a drug habit. What if the money you gave enabled someone to buy the heroin they died of an overdose from? I have been down and out and not once did begging cross my mind. And by down and out I mean homeless for over a year.
Take your money and give it to the local boys or girls club. Go buy $100 worth of canned goods and donate them to your local food bank. That way you insure that people who truly need a hand are getting it.LoSt_AgAiN, InTooDeep, DrFlush and 10 others Thank this. -

I never seen you at the homeless shelters in Jacksonville FL or Ft Worth..

I have fed homeless people in NOLA. 70 to 80% are happy to get a meal. But who wouldn't be happy with pulled pork, pot roast, brats and coleslaw with potato salad. Some just want money. If you make them food and drive around the underpasses to give it away, it's more money for liquir when they do hustle.
I made coffee too and gave it out.LoSt_AgAiN, Dale thompson, Roguefox and 5 others Thank this. -
mostly because I wouldn't go to Jacksonville on a bet, and I leave Ft. Worth as soon as I get there.
Unless I'm staying at my father in law's place in BenbrookeLoSt_AgAiN, Dale thompson, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this. -
When I see people panhandling that
Have an $800 trek bicycle
Have a $300 back pack
Have a $300 sleeping bag
Have a tent bag for a $400 tent.
Plus a number of other things.
Fully understand, these could have come from a number of sources. Bottom line, there are services for those that need it. They could really use some cash. If you want to help someone, give that cash to these support services.LoSt_AgAiN, Dale thompson, Roguefox and 6 others Thank this. -
At night. When you're alone with you're trainer. And you have to dock at H.E.B., what do you see?
LoSt_AgAiN, Dale thompson, thelushlarry and 5 others Thank this.
