I Just purchased a truck 2 months ago and it came with a tripac evolution. I was out for 2 weeks and it seemed to work fine heat and cool, but my last day out I turned the AC on and went to bed then my bunk started smelling funny almost like the smell of fireworks so I turned it off and when I checkd the apu outside it was smoking from the side where the belt is and it was really hot when i turned the switch to off I could feel the heat on my hand.
Idk if its electrical or something else, Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Don’t turn it on, it’ll smoke up the environment and be bad on the kids.
2. Don’t touch it, it’s probably hot.

Could be a burned up alternator . Does it still work properly ? Charge batteries ? Run ac/bunk heat ?

Take off the covers and take a look. There is only 3 pulleys back there for the belt. Alternator ,ac, and the crank. Maybe belt is rubbing or something . Take some pics while ur in there too
