Well... I broke down and bought a Keurig. From when I hit the start button it takes about 2 minutes and 7 seconds to make an incredibly average cup of coffee. I also bought the k-cup reusable filter so I grind my own. Meh. It ruined really good beans.
Here’s the math. The unit was $74.88 with tax and 2 year added warranty. So $0.75 per cup.
The k-pods were $7.89 for 16. So $0.50 each. (I bought some just for convenience)
Half and Half is about $0.12 per ounce.
Based on a 100 cups I figure the unit is $.75 + $0.50 + $0.12 for a total of $1.37 per cup right now. Obviously the cost will go down after 100 cups.
2 minutes 7 seconds. I’ll just use the pods. I’ll use my French press and my beans when I want a good cup of coffee.

2 hours, load still not ready.
me on Phone.
“Hey, this load still not ready, what’s this sitting time pay?”
“Hang on, I’ll call them back.”
me “Better hurry or I’ll say $100/hour.”
20 more minutes I haven’t heard a thing.
I should’ve stayed home..
In other news.. Frank was trying to get freaky with Jolene, who had got into the truck while I was getting out looking for someone.
I think Frank had a heart attack.
I told him not to over do it, he’d throw his back out, he wasn’t a young fly anymore.
Ah, these middle aged flies don’t listen anymore.
Now Jolene is off to raise a young Fredrick all on her own.
I should write a book.. I come up with the darnedest things.homeskillet, Roguefox, lovesthedrive and 7 others Thank this. -
So, if you have two cups a day for 5 years. That will be 365x2=730 cups per year then
730 x 5 = 3,650 totals cups in 5 years. Then in 5 years you drink 3,650 x 1.37 = $5,000.50 this is a lot of money for coffee.Opus, homeskillet, 77fib77 and 8 others Thank this. -
Two things.
1. Shut up about my addiction. LOL
2. They say 3-4 cups a day helps prevent colon cancer. So it’s cheap insurance.homeskillet, Cattleman84, Wasted Thyme and 7 others Thank this. -

I rounded all the numbers up for each product used in making the cup to offset the cost of wear and tear. I also left out other consumables such as water, clean up products, and my time since I was only mentally comparing the basic cost of the k-cup vs. the swill that is always present at a TS.homeskillet, lovesthedrive, LoSt_AgAiN and 6 others Thank this.

Almost bought this truck... but I don’t think I can get in the bunk crawl through anymore.. or if I did I’d never get out..
350 cummins with 15 speed... I could fix it up but I think that crawl through would have to go, which would take away from it..
