Find a Detroit Diesel dealer. I need one for my Cummins and the only place to get those plates are thru the engine dealers. Be prepared to pay $$$$
-
Are they blind? I can read that just fine.
But yes, only way you're going to get a replacement is from the dealer.Czar_Zero, User666, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
ok thanks

The dealer will put the new sticker on, they won’t mail it to you.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Um.
Used to they wanted the engine plate with serial number and family number
that plateDiesel Dave Thanks this. -
Key words ... "to get loads to California" ... if you don't want to go there then there is no issue.
-
Yeah the person looking at it is clueless, we went through this crap last year with a truck. Had to talk to someone else above the idiot to get it fixed.
-
I had to do it for the truck I bought in April. It took the dealer a week to figure out how to order it. No one had asked them for it before. The dealer is supposed to install it for you according to Detroit, but mine just handed it to me. It cost me $56. I have read stories on the net from owners who had to pay several hundred dollars. Just depends on the dealer.
LS definitely requires it now and it takes time to get it so don't waste time. I hear California is writing tickets if the cop claims he can't read the sticker. Just another policing for profit scheme. That's why you are being asked for it. I don't think telling them you won't go to California will get you out of it.
The guy that parks next to me at my rented space has a couple of dump trucks. He said his insurance company made him send pictures of his emissions stickers when he renewed this year. Not sure why they wanted it b ut apparently they did.Last edited: Nov 7, 2020

Just trace the faded letter with a fine tip sharpie. Nobody will know the difference. I can read it just fine.
