If more truck stops and managers would grow a set and enforce the parking rules there wouldn't be as many issues with parked illegally trucks. A uniformed off duty officer, towing company on site to remove illegally parked and even truck boots would all work to curb these uncaring drivers. Ban the offending companies and drivers from future business at those truck stops. Harsh but it will get the message across.

I agree, they are taking something they did not pay for. I say put a strap around the cab so they can't get out and tow there sorry butts and make the driver pay for it. After they get done trying to drive a truck on the hook!God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -

Just have your company put up some gates for private parking, what is the problem? -
When people steal items from the shelf in your store, do you just let them get away with that too? When people are not paying for a paid spot, they're stealing. I don't blame you for not wanting to beat on a door. But at least sack up and get the cops involved, if you have to. When you see them parked there, it should piss you off. They're disrespecting you. They're disrespecting your store. Don't take it laying down.
A couple weeks ago, I made a delivery to the Apple jobsite in Austin, and the place was a mud hole. Everyone had to wait in line to get their tires washed before they could get back on the pavement. I was about five vehicles back from the front, and I was waiting at a small intersection. I couldn't block it, because they had cement trucks coming through there. So I was waiting for enough vehicles to get washed, so I could pull up and not block the intersection. So a worker there saw the gap and cut in line in front of me. It pissed me off, but I told myself to relax. But when the second one did it, that was enough. I piled out of that truck, beat on that guy's window and asked him if he's really gonna cut in line??? He said, "I didn't know there was a line" Bull effing crap... I pointed to the obvious line, and said every one of us has been waiting hours in it. Guy was twice my size. You look someone in the eye and back them down, or you take an ### whoopin'. But don't just let people walk on you. He backed down. Best part was, I saw red so fast I forgot I had my wife on the headset, and she heard it all. Turned her on. Win win.
Beat on that truckers door. Ask him if he paid to park there. When he says no, ask him why he thought he could park in a paid spot for free. If he gives you any lip, tell him his options. He can move now, he can move when the cops come, or he can watch his truck get moved by a tow truck.
Or tell us which truck stop you work at. I need a new CB for free. -
Have you noticed a lot of the LTL outfits doing trailer swaps in your lot?

They need to put in pop up bollards similar to the ones they use at military and government buildings that will block the pay per park spots til someone has paid for it.

The only problem with this who do you think is going to pay for it? I'll bet it won't be the truck stops in the long run.

I’m lazy and prefer to spend my off time at home, on the rare occasion I have a good bit of time off on the road (like 16+ hours) I’ll splurge on a holiday inn or such with a pool and a bar in it, no dirty by the hour places.
I don’t mind paying a couple bucks to park, but I almost never stay at the large chains, I’ll use trucker path Or word of mouth etc and find the little places to stayGod prefers Diesels Thanks this.
