My DS recruiter has informed me that I'm not going with USA now. He didn't say why other than they didn't get final approval from them. He said that PAM has given them Final approval so looks like that's where I'm going.

Not surprising, there were a couple guys from my class in July they turned down with no reason given. I made it through everything and am in my second week solo with USA. So far I like it ok.

That's good that your enjoying things there IUFAN87. I was confused by them because they told me that USA was the only one to give approval, then when it's time it was PAM. I'm fine with PAM just kinda took me by surprise. My biggest fear is that where I live I see several USA trucks every day and never see PAM trucks but maybe 1 or 2 times a week if that. Hell, yesterday I saw 3 USA trucks within 15 miles of each other. I am sure it's more of me just noticing USA more because that's who I was going to be working for. I'm sure I will be just as happy at PAM as I would at USA.

yeah usa dropped me also im in indy right now attending c1... they are trying to get me on with pam.. if i was still on for usa i could have finished c1 in 2 weeks total.. guss they dont care how good there drivers are.. so if pam dont need me i go home free of charge..but without a carrier to sponser my training they wont let me finish the class...

I'm beginning to wonder if USA is getting close to having enough drivers and maybe are getting more particular about who they accept. Maybe with the slower time of year for freight coming closer could be a factor. I have noticed my last few loads have had almost double the empty miles. Hope thats not a bad omen.:biggrin_25512:

As for being more picky I'm not sure. I have had no Tickets ever and no accidents. I have a stable work history also. I do know the courts just allowed the suit against them which was a rather large sum of money. That may have something to do with it also. Pam has given DS the final approval for me so that's where I'm headed.

Actually, freight picks up this time of year. Not a big spike, but it does pick up. It's rare for a driver to bail on a company just before Christmas. Even more so now, I would guess. So openings and hirings are going to be slow for some time to come.

January thru March are going to be rough for anyone wanting to start a career as a driver. There will be the usual post Christmas turnover, along with the traditional freight drop off.

You're (billyG) concern about not seeing a PAM truck, is misplaced. Not all PAM trucks use the "PAM" logo on the doors. You probably see many of their trucks, you just fail to recognize them for who they are.

Yep, Choctaw Express, Allen Freight Services and Decker Transport are all divisions of PAM.
