Jumped into this head first after 7 years and bought a truck and got my own authority. Going thru all the filings its been over a month already and its taking alot of time. Which i expected but seems like its going to take alot more time that i didnt expect. Im up to filing my irp in texas. Then get my ifta stickers and hit the road.
Question i have right now is.... Can i skip the wait and get a144 hour temp plate on the tractor and trailer in texas and haul stuff INTRASTATE. While i wait for my irp filing to go thru? Legally of course. Last thing i need is thousands more in fines added to the thousands already put up while i wait for each step to go thru. Of course covid isnt hurrying anything.
Just bought a new truck question

Let me tell you, my favorite part of this was driving all the way to San Antonio to FedEx Express a package to....San Antonio. My second favorite part was waiting ten to fifteen days between email replies from them.jsnell, 86scotty, kemosabi49 and 5 others Thank this. -

I havent got to the ifta yet because as far as i know. I gave to gave the irp filed first. Then i have to wait for that.
Gpd answered the question. Except ill have to get a temp plate for the truck and trailer. 110 every 6 days.

God prefers diesels... Have you had anyndt inspections with them temp plates?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Can't you get your regular trailer plate from the DMV? For example, I had the choice of paying $900 to get a Texas plate for the truck, and it's normal walk-in stuff. Same day, walk in with title, insurance, and money, and walk out with a plate. So you should be able to get a trailer plate. Then, all you need to do is keep getting the temp plate for the truck. I'm pretty sure when you go apportioned, it only is for the truck anyway, but anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Rideandrepair and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
