I looked in the fuse box to see if there is a fuse for the assurance system. There is 3 locations for fuses according to the diagram...I only have 1 of the 3 with a fuse in it, but it also powers the trucks ABS sensors. I also was gonna look to see if the speakers have separate wires for the sound and #####-box. However, this 2021 has covers that are plastic-welded to the door panel that you have to break to remove. The only way you can get to the speakers is to take the whole door panel off.
I may just say F-it, set my cruise to 55 and tell dispatch to add a day to every load since driving this truck at/near it's governed speed will make me go deaf, and I am trying to save them a workers comp claim.

Mine did not kill the abs, only the active braking system, i.e. the on guard. And I did have all 3 fuses.

One of the screens will show the other vehicles speed at least until the distance warning or the “watch for ice” blocks everything. Just got my license plate yesterday along with A-service. Was on my third temporary registration. This one expires 12/31. Prorate now apparently has something to do with changing fuel solutions and if you manage to get through you get to deal with somebody’s bad attitude. Last time, the switchboard ended up switching me to payroll after my 4th attempt and they took care of it.

Deland msg'd me Friday and said they have my plate, so now I get to play 'guess where I am going' so I can get to it before the 13th because that's when my latest temp expires.
After I get empty in Belvidere, I head over just south of Wakegan to pick up headed for Jefferson City MO...maybe I can get them to head me west to KC with enough advanced notice to have them next day it there.gentleroger, 650cat425 and Onadetour Thank this. -
If you scroll down 1 screen for the digital speedometer it will show the other vehicles speed. Its the screen with the lane on it.

@supersnackbar I follow your adventures. I have miles in a Freightliner, Volvo, and Peterbilt with the forward collision warning/braking.
Volvo has the best system but it does like to beep.
Freightliner is Number 2 and it’s jake brake is better then the Volvo. My gas pedal over road most of the problems you have when people get on the highway six miles away and the truck locks it up for them.
By far the worst system is the bendix system in the Pete. I had three software updates at the dealer and I don’t know if there’s an overpass in Missouri or Oklahoma it didn’t brake for.
When you do switch companies I humbly suggest that whoever you go with has their trucks set to at least 70mph. I know that sounds dumb but in my experience the companies ok with letting you go the speed limit have a lot less hand holding rules. ie They leave you alone.
I put the top bunk up in every truck. I’ve bumped my head enough. The loss of storage is worth it to me.Lonesome and mushroom1464 Thank this. -

I should be getting out from under this trailer with my next load. I have been under it since before Thanksgiving, which is rare for Shaffer. After I get empty here in Jefferson City I am headed to Edwardsville, IL (they use to call that area Pontoon Beach) for a drop/hook and head back to the Chicagoland area for a morning delivery. That'll put me over 3k for the week as of Wednesday morning. As of the delivery in Belvidere, my quarterly miles since I started were just under 20,000. Which included 3 days at home and 1 day swapping trucks. I was told when I started that Shaffer averages less miles per week/month than Crete. Mostly because of the extra time with grocery warehouses, wash-outs, etc, but it seems like I am kicking along a lot better than I was at Crete 7ish years ago...and other than the one little umph with my DM a week or so ago (when he was right about me being able to turn 4000+ miles in 8 days), we have very little communication other than preplans and loads getting dispatched. Which is how I like it...the 'no news is good news' style of dispatch fits my style of running.

Uncle Sam is gonna be pleased with my generous donation to the IRS from my earnings this week. After I empty out in Elk Grove Village this a.m., I am headed into Chicago to pick up a load that delivers outside Boston Friday morning. Upon delivery, I will have over 4000 paid miles on this weeks pay. I left the Tue before Thanksgiving, after I deliver Friday I will have turned over 8000 paid miles since leaving home, which includes 2 34hr restarts. When I was at Crete the last time, that was almost as much as I would get in an entire month.

Elk Grove Village could solve your Freightliner problem. Just trade it for one of those white Volvo's.
