I got an e-mail Thursday. It’s not the first third party scam I’ve gotten. They can be very convincing trying to look Official. This one gets creative, quoting $1000 a day fines, up to $10000. Etc. Along with the threat of possible Scale house harassment. Basically they’re trying to scare People into doing an update, before it’s due. Citing that an update may be due, because of a change in operations. Fee $95.00. It was first seen about a year ago. I found a few articles about it. Even a statement from Wisconsin DOT. So Beware. Thought I’d mention it, since a search on ttr didn’t show anything.E mail was from DOT Biennial Update Filing.

I ignore every one of these emails. If you know you are in compliance there is zero reason to worry. Some of these junk emails look very official, but if they don't have a .gov in the address they're B.S. It is quite obvious that either the government sells our data, or there is some way these b.s. operations get our info from them instantly because I got a phone call within minutes of submitting my application for my MC number years ago when I went from intra-state to inter-state.

Yep. Constant bs like this. Some of what the send in mail looks like it may be legit until you read it all.

Had someone email me that they could file something for me for $170 bucks. I did it myself for free, lots of scams out there.
Rickp and Rideandrepair Thank this.
