I will reaffirm Google Maps and Trucker Path both even though they’ve been mentioned a bunch. Just that useful to have.
If your company uses Peoplenet then the ConnectedDriver app is pretty useful for referencing your messages and such. I keep the TruckSmart app (TA/Petro) installed to keep an eye on parking in areas im going as a backup, they usually live update free spot availability plus reserved on there. Of course PFJ. I also keep some states 511 app installed, most notably Virginia. Comes in handy knowing exact incident details. Lastly RadarScope for weather maps. I’ve got the paid version for added features and detail. Very nice radar
Useful smartphone apps

Just noticed on my most recent update of Maps that you can change the vehicle type icon. Haven't had the time to determine if there is a corresponding change in routing. I will say that Maps saved the day coming through Phoenix this morning. That new 202L is the shiznitz. My Garmin GPS didn't pick up on the route change.

Highway Weather (Formerly Weather Route).
Gives weather along Route and you can adjust time to determine best time to leave etc. -

The tiny scan app is great if you have to send documents like Customs Docs for guys that do cross border work. Or trip sheets if you work for a small outfit that doesn't due transflo or trippak.
tarmadilo Thanks this.
