In my opinion Fcc is dumb adding anything to a truck that will steer the truck what’s it gonna do in construction zones with lines going everywhere bad enough with the braking issue since sometimes it slams on the brakes because of signs or bridges. I believe you can take this safety stuff way too farTokyoJoe Thanks this.

Don’t think Fcc is permitted to haul hazmat I don’t have it in my permit book anyway
-
It’s the battery most likely the toll side doesn’t work off the two aa batteries
-
We didn’t haul that load. Broker (landstar) probably F’d up and didn’t know or didn’t tell us it was hazmat.

Well, more or less out of hours after today... this two stop load of carpet will drop on Monday since they aren’t open for live unloads after noon today.
DM says “you mom is more or less on the way right? Go give her a visit and come back out on Sunday.”
now I was already looking at that as an option but it’s really nice that the DM even thought about it...mushroom1464 Thanks this. -
It's Landstar for sure. When I was an O/O leased to them, my 2nd load was barrels of something going to a water treatment plant across the river from Portland. It was supposed to be 1 hazmat (below the RQ for placards) , and the rest non-hazmat. Got to the shipper and it was 1 non-hazmat, and the rest hazmat, which required placards. Called the agent, and he swore up and down that he was told non-hazmat, but the shipper showed me the paperwork he sent him where it clearly showed that it was. The agent had to cough up some more money on the load or it wasn't going by my truck.MidWest_MacDaddy, runningman0661 and dwells40 Thank this.

Today was a perfect example why I still run a CB, and always will. Running East on I 70 in Missouri today I started hearing guys warn of a parking lot (car carrier) that was broken down in the slow lane and partially on the shoulder at mm158 I got in the left lane about a mile out, it’s right near a curve and a crest of a small hill. Another truck almost plowed into this guy, and swerved over into the hammer lane at the last second nearly side swiping a jeep , forcing it into the median. It could have been disastrous, and hopefully it wasn’t after I went past. It appeared his trailer brakes locked up, he was making an effort to get out of the travel lane, but wasn’t having much success.
As I passed the other truck driver that almost hit him, I confirmed my suspicions, no CB. Can the CB be annoying at times? Absolutely, but it has saved me in situations such as this numerous times.Last edited: Jan 9, 2021

I’ve had a Connex 3300 that I’ve used for decades. Saved my tail too many times to count.
