Had a noise ( pecking ) start up Thursday. Gut just kept telling me it was the compressor. When I took the front valve cover off it sounded like a real loose push tube in there.
My gut seems to have been on the right track, rear connecting rod had 0.030 play up & down.
So far no noise ( pecking )!! Was able to find a Bendix this time too.....
Where is everyone #5

Putting a new oil pump on. I really don’t know what I’m doing but I don’t have the money to pay to have it done.

Good post and great you found it in time. You are very particular.
I have been going through a box of old family stuff. Found a picture of one of my first tractors. It was a JD G in pieces. No finished pictures. Another of a one horse power cane press. More like a mule but not many know what one mule power is. I will post some pics if you would care to see them.jamespmack, Eldiablo, 650cat425 and 6 others Thank this. -

Absolutely!! Love seeing things like that!
I have my family sorghum press with the wooden beam in my shop, the evaporator pan needs replaced, but I hope in the next couple years to have it going.
I thoroughly enjoy things from the past. This is my press on the steel wheeled wagon it was on last time it was used....., 1973-74.
That wooden valve was used to control the juice coming into the pan.....jamespmack, beastr123, Eldiablo and 12 others Thank this. -
