Recently got my class b CDL in Texas,no restrictions.I took my test clutching in every gear. Being 21 with no experience and not knowing how to properly float gears I am having a hard time getting in. Any suggestions on companies that would hire or help? I understand insurance, age and experience are against me but anything would help.Thank you in advance.

noone said you have to float. if clutching works for you, then use the clutch. Kind of a confusing post if you ask me. Drive the trck how you feel most comdfortable

Go to Stevens Transport out of Dallas. They hire newbies and they train the hell out of you.

Just use the clutch, you can learn to float then later.

If your trying to float, all you gotta do is get your rpms high enough to pop it out of gear to upshift. If trying to downshift, get your rpms low enough. Pay attention to how the truck feels shifting and riding. Itll tell you what you need to do.

Which city or town are you in or near?
Many companies in Texas will hire you for CDL-A training or right into a CDL-B job.
Don't worry about floating gears because if a safety man gives you a road test, you'll fail if you insist on floating gears. Learn to float gears after you're hired and on the road.

Floating gears will fail you on a road test at some of the Mega’s.
