Got a call from a friend, said that there was gas put in his diesel plow-truck, and he needed a ride to the garage to grab his pick up, and at least do Escort.
They do 4 wide, shoulder to shoulder, on Rt. 80 - with an Escort light show behind it all.
Ok; so I'm plowed out and go get him.
He is in truck stop on Rt. 46, gets in and says we need to go up 80 East to Exit 32.
What, we're on exit 12???
So I took him to his truck, hit the odometer button, and drove home in monday nights white out snowstorm. total both ways 108 miles.
Musta passed 18-20 people in the ditch. Coulda made 2 grand easy, but just wanted to get home.
So; the reason I laid this all out is this, I got a thank you - am I wrong to expect more?
No good deed goes unpunished, and I could have said no. But - who does that?
108 miles in Monday's snowstorm

Given the situation, your friend was probably stressed beyond measure.
Gas in his diesel plow truck? Was that deliberate or accidental? Assuming the worst, what is the most that could cost him?
If someone had not given him a ride, could he have lost his job, customer or contract?
We never know where someone's head is. To him, you may be the only reliable friend he has.
rolls canardly and alds Thank this. -
Accidental - language barrier incident.
They pumped, and refilled on their dime.
Yes, yes, and yes.
You are right, nobody does what I do.
I'm either nuckin' futz, or old school, can't tell which.
I will find out how much it was appreciated,
when I ask him to hold the other side of my new bumper - when I try to mount it.baha Thanks this.
