I knew things were going too good lately. Was told the shipper for my next 3 stopper closed at 3 am, so be there to droo/hook before then. I get little sleep because when I am on a tight time line, I lay there and plan, then replan, then replan again. I get up, get to the shipper at 02:10 and am told that shipping has already gone home and won't be back until 0430. Since I have started my day, and need to run as much of the 780 miles to the 1st stop as I can, leaving 0430 will make it #### near impossible to make it thru Charlotte and DC, then make it to my 1st stop by 5 tomorrow. Bankruptcy and that bulk cement job are starting to look more appealing every day
Update - it took until after 6 to get in, get paperwork, drop/hook...let Peoplenet get thru rebooting a half dozen times, do load call, twice because customer's temps and our load info didn't match, and get the heck out of the customer's facility. Nice enough people, but the location is a fuster cluck of a place...way inside the Atlanta loop...where everybody's property has fences that look more like a prison's exercise yard...razor wire, electric fence cables. And they wanted me to spend the night on the street in front of the place...yea right, when Porkey sprouts wings out of his butt (Sprouts...is the name of the place I picked up)
Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

SSB....if you do go the bankruptcy route...load up the credit cards...and take on as much debt as you can before filing....so you can get the most out of it
Aamcotrans, JoeyJunk and runningman0661 Thank this. -
You should probably make it clear that you are kidding.

Unloads went fine...got to the 1st stop, apologized for being a little late and he said "you're late? What time did they say to be here?". I said 5 am...to which he said "well, if you woulda got here then, you would have had to wait for me, I come in at 6 on Friday, and I am the only person with the keys today". Had all 3 stops off by 10:15 and my next load, which is loaded early, is a drop/hook 10 miles down the road at @xlsdraw's company's yard in Wilmington... Leonard's Express.
Update - picked up monkey chow...a.k.a. bananas from Leonard's cross dock facility. I've hauled a lot of bananas since I've been here.Last edited: Feb 5, 2021

You’re now headed to the deep freeze. Lots of single digit temps in the near future here.
