Hey maybe it’s the west coast in me, but when I finally discovered Kwik Trip in Minnesota, it was like a religious experience. I had no idea there was truck stops on earth that had such great food choices, both prepared and as groceries.

They put the mega truck stops to shame and show them for the money grubbing s holes they really are. :) I stop at Kwik Trip now whenever in an area that has them.

The food isn't half bad and the megas usually stay out of them.. All the more reason to stop.

    D.Tibbitt, Dave1837 and mjd4277 Thank this.

Not any more buddy. My mega driving ### will be showing up any time soon, and I’m quick to grab the last spaghetti and meatballs.

Most of them are, for the most part, off the beaten path like RT. 22, 322 and I-99. Most megas don't run those routes cause they're on I-80 or the 76 turnpike clogging up the rest areas lol

I like Rutters as well. They are usually kind of off the beaten path and have great food, clean restrooms, parking for a few trucks that isn't a pee lot. What's not to love? Also, they have a great selection of beer and more varieties of Yeungling than I can get down south. Cheap too. I often carry some home in my hidey hole in the back.

*The above info is meant to be useful to those who live in reality. Please don't turn this in to a post about drinking or not while out on the road.

To be fair, the Town Pump run Pilot’s in Montana are light years better than the corporate owned Pilots for food choices. The sausage on a stick and some bread makes for a tasty lunch. Good prices too, much better than corporate.

In Oregon, I like to stop at the 7 Feathers Casino TS on I5. They have an excellent deli and some groceries including fruits, vegetables, and frozen food. I’m rarely that way, but always try to stop when I am. Plus if you go in the casino, they have a trucker special breakfast—dirt cheap and insanely good.

The next time any of you stop at Rutters try there peanut butter chocolate milk. In my opinion it's great it tatse just like a Reese,s peanut butter cup.

All 3, WaWa, Rutters, and Sheetz are setting the pace for the concept, MTO, as Sheetz calls it. Made to Order.
The mid-west and south could definitely learn from these companies. Right now those regions are relying on dried up pizza on the warmer and chicken fried in crankcase oil.
