If a company wants you to drive an unsafe vehicle that you know is not safe and/or would fail a level 1 inspection, or, if they want you to run outside legally permitted hours, or, if they insist you drive when the weather and roads are unsafe. Don't walk away, run!
I've said this numerous times and I'll say it again. As a driver you are 100% responsible for the safe and legal operation of the CMV you are driving. You can not cede that authority to anyone regardless of if you want to or not. After all, your experience here shows this consequence ended up on you, not the folks you work for.
Any company that is worth working for knows, understands and respects that reality. And, considering there is a driver shortage these days, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a company that is worth working for.

Doesn't matter if you get a new job, you will keep screwing up. So do things properly. Keeping your logs with you is not your company's job, it's your's. Lights etc, you have to let them know, they are not psychic. Sorry to be so so hard on you but that is the reality. I made MANY mistakes when I started driving, no one at fault but me. Once you step in that truck, you are responsible. If company refuses to fix and you have been noting these thing in your logbook, the company will be fined. If company is forcing you to run over hrs, you don't have to comply with them but just tell the scales guys what is happening and they WILL get an investigation going. On the the other hand, if you are getting greedy and want to make extra money and are cheating on your logs, well, then you get what's coming to you. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. You can keep changing companies, but won't help until you make the the necessary changes in habits to be a better driver or owner operator. Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide.

 

This is unbelievable. The first thing you need to do is learn how to do a pretrip. Then you have to teach yourself about HOS rules. Then you need a tutelage on ELDs. I've worked for those types of companies, and I guarantee you, they don't stay in business long. These types of things are what further empowers megas, or any major bigger company. Then DOT looks at O/Os and smaller fleets so much closer because of these companies. The other members said get away. Chinatown gave you some suggestions, listen to what they say. Some companies like Magnum will look at your CSA score. Others not so much. There's somewhere for you to work. You can make money, good steady money, without having to be in violation like that. Get it together driver!

 

This is the root of your problem. You need to care.
