Nope not working on it until its warmer. These 60 year old joints dont appreciate it when it is this cold outside.

Speaking of large elusive felines... I nearly hit a Mountain Lion on US26 in WY, on the eastern slope of Togwotee.

I saw the shape of a 4 legged critter very near the shoulder in the glow of my high beams, at first I thought it was a coyote. But as I got closer I realised it was much bigger than a coyote, and the stance wasn't right to be a dog. When I was about 50 feet away it suddenly spun around to cross the road in front of me, but reconsidered, spun back around, and bounded away into the darkness. That was when I could clearly see exactly what kind of animal it was.

That is the only time I have personally seen a wild Mountain Lion... Ive seen thier tracks before, and was even stalked by one while hunting one year. Of course I didnt realise I was being stalked until I reversed course and came upon its tracks directly on top of my own in the snow, which had been undisturbed until I passed the first time.

But tonight I could very clearly see this cat... A very beautiful creature. Its body, not including the tail, was longer than a reflector post is tall. When the tail was taken into consideration total length was nearly double that of its body alone. And the tail I'm sure was larger around than a baseball bat... And the way that tail moved to counter its balance when it would spin was a sight to behold. It is a sight I will not soon forget.

Mountain lions are people too!!!!

I saw a huge one cross the road in front of me when I was walking to the flight line one morning at Miramar.

I thought, " I have to walk right by there."

If I'd gone around, I'd been late for muster. I thought if I tell The Chief a mountain lion story, he'll write me up for sure.

Depending on state, usually .10 pound plus $150 court cost and may have to reload it, depends on officer.
