There’s also Waste Management in your area. As far as concrete goes, there’s Genest in Sanford and they’re hiring now, there’s Sargent and Auburn Concrete close by. There’s also a lot of construction companies that will be ramping up soon, like Shaw Brothers, Pike, Grondin, all in the Portland area, along with many others. You won’t have any trouble getting a job in the fields that you are looking at.

Welcome aboard, you came to the right place. As usual, you got Chinatown all fired up, and a valuable resource, but let's start at the beginning. Since OTR is not an option, it reduces your chances of any high paying jobs,, as local driving is usually not the best. High output for lower wage. It is a way of getting into the trade, but there are better, easier jobs. Once you have a CDL, I'd consider a freight line haul, or a place that does something, and has their own truck. How about a stage coach? Bus drivers are in high demand, make decent money, have cushy equipment and never deal with the hassles of trucking. A little vomit pales in comparison to what happens in trucking. Good luck.n14 Thanks this.

I agree with HappilyRetired, maybe look into driving a bus. Up North, bus drivers typically make good money from what I hear. A lot of them are union as well, so you get those benefits. A lot are operated by the city or county, so you get those benefits. Might be something to look into.

Never considered a bus - I can get the passenger endorsement at school. BUT, with COVID, how is that industry doing? Municipal might be fine - but how about the Greyhounds of the world?

A few 'unemployed due to Covid' bus drivers have been checking out this forum. Don't know how it's going for them though.
In the news a couple months ago, a city bus driver was killed when he told someone to put a mask on because that's the requirement to ride the bus.n14 Thanks this. -
