Did you, or will you, go back to where this occurred, and look for and photograph parking spot, to show little plastic pieces.
This will seal the deal for you if there are none, and if there are,
You gotta fess up, it was an accident. Let us know. Luck.

You're being scammed. There are a few drivers that never repair a broken mirror because it's a money maker. One owner-operator was making $300 several times a week doing that, until he was caught.

Police was called but no police report was made by officer , he said he wasn’t obligated . I reported this to my boss , he said no big deal , so I ain’t worried about getting fired . It’s just isn’t fair being blamed with no actual proof . If everything goes his way , what will happen to my cdl ???

Should be nothing, no police report, keep photo proof, next time don’t fall for things without knowing if you did or didn’t bump things..

At no time did I accept fault , I told him ,you have no proof I hit your mirror , I didn’t see it happen and nobody else seen it happen not even you because you would’ve blown your horn and contacted me immediately, I had the time to go check into guard shack , back up into my dock , and check into the receiving office , finally lay down for a nap then finally he banged on my door saying I hit his mirror .

first, it does not matter whether it is a rental or lease truck. it is a truck, that IS damaged.

second, you need to whip out your camera ASAP when someone tells you, that you hit them, and take LOTS of pictures of the truck, the area, the ground. in your pictures, (after the fact) i saw no debris on the ground.

now it IS possible, that other truck, belongs to that driver or his company, and most likely parks at the docks overnight. i know MY company and my former co-workers did just that. otherwise, had he been sleeping in his truck, and you hit him, he would have gotten out real quick to stop you.

i'd like to say too, that since the mirror was already taped, that mirror was previously damaged. your pictures prove that, unless while you were calling your company, or doing some accident report form, is when he taped the mirror, and cleaned the area.

maybe in the future, when you park at a loading dock overnight, take pics of the area, and any trucks adjacent to where you will be as proof BEFORE hand of any damages.

Never said you did, he can’t prove it so tell him to get f’d and stay F’d (GFSF) people are always trying to get ahead in this game by ANY MEANS NECESSARY, this clown drives around with a broken mirror and looks for NEWBS he can scare into paying. Had a similar incident although guy came up to me in the truck stop in Northern Indiana (visiting family in my POV, I was wearing a trucking shirt) , and said hey you just tore off my front bumper you owe me $$$$, I said well let’s go have a look, he walks to a Volvo that clearly had front end damage, HOWEVER NO Broken pieces anywhere, so grab the ole flashlight and get on the ground looking under his cab and all around and don’t see ANY EVIDENCE of a Recent accident. So he called the police, they sent an officer over he took his statement and wanted to take my statement I simply said I didn’t do it, cop said let me look at your truck, I said NO PROBLEM You just need to drive 6 hours south of here to my hometown where you will find my truck in a secure lot with NO DAMAGE, cop rolled his eyes told the other driver he had half a mind to charge him with filing a false police report, walked to his car and left
The moral is Crooked drivers will try to make a fast buck against ANYONE
