Speed Binders

    I use gear oil in a squirt can, lined after every use and closed all the way. The oil is messy and stinks but it’s cheap and the binders are always ready to go next time.

    Those speed binders look nice but it looks like a $100 dollar solution looking for a problem.

    Snap binders are a must in some applications. Have fun securing logs on a log truck with ratchet binders. Then re-doing them all again after 20km of bush roads and the logs settle. 2 minutes with snap binders, probably 15 with ratchet binders.

    Iv used speed binders for inch chain hauling "yellow steel" I like em they are pretty cool . Honestly my favorite binder is a snap , but really having a little bit of everything is the best

    You got me there!!

    But I can guarantee you that you will never see me on a bush road hauling logs that is way above my pay grade. Log haulers are brave or ....

    there another thread about these Speed binder VS ratchet binder
    I use them and another brand that does not need the lever to be anchored to get tight I have used motorcycle tie downs to hold the dead leg. The other brand I use is the self binder SELF Load Binder
    they have there place I really like them when hauling trench plate where the binder has to lay flat on the plate they are much easier to tighten and they work great on rubber tired equipment where you need to pull down the tires a long way to keep them tight.

    I really like them when it's time to retighten the load after a few miles just walk around with the 3/8 impact and you are done in seconds no unwrapping the chain or untying the snap binder

    I'd love to go logging. All my family either worked in the mill or the bush. Logging was dead in the late 2000s when I entered the workforce. If it had better prospects for jobs back then I'd probably be logging right now.

    Takes me 20 seconds to pop on and tighten my ratchets, all i saw in the video was 5 seconds to tighten, i cant say i beleive that the much heavier design of that binder is going to be FASTER to put on. Not to mention stowing and carrying them to their storage spot, i can carry 4 at a time and just throw my current ratchets from headache rack to deck of trailer, throwing one of those.... more difficult for sure and thats if youre willing to risk the damage that could come from somethingbthat has more moving parts

    Screwing them in after use is not very efficient, how about keep it lubed and run out to the max and toss a bungee/ chain on the end to keep it from spinning? Thats what i do, and the 6 i carry have no problem exposed on the back of my rack

    Keeping them closed keeps all the road grime and sand out of the screws. I have an Inclosed rack and I still keep mine closed, it takes maybe 10-15 seconds to open or close one.

    I use them daily in a steel hauler I have 8 of them with that said I believe in them so much in in Steve’s add. Now for the cool part when I first saw them I called the company and ask if they were made in the USA Steve said they were not and I politely end of the conversation.

    Steve called me back and said he’d like to discuss his product with me a little further if I had time I agreed.
    I offered to buy one with his promise that if I did not like it because I was going to have it tested at a rigging supply company where I live locally and if it broke or didn’t do what it was supposed to do I can return it he offered to send me one for free and do the testing if I liked it to purchase it or send it back.
    when my binder arrived I took it to the Rigging supply house and they put it on their testing machine I used my Dewalt three speed half-inch battery powered drill I said the clutch to 11 and it put 6000 pounds of pole on the binder according to the test equipment we left it for an hour and it did not destruct. What I like about the product and the testing we did this also it didn’t take much do use a ratchet to get it to 6000 pounds either.
    I’m almost exclusively a steel hauler and haul permit loads of shotgun coils I’ll haul up to nine at a time on the 48 foot flatbed I have a short run and I may do 3 to 4 loads a day with using the binders it is cut an hour off my day allowing me to get that third or fourth load. These things are great they do not back off. I’m not a salesman for the company I get no compensation and I paid for all eight of my binders the only downside I had to build my own binder rack because these are basically made from A manual slacker Adjuster. I do carry a few snap binders and regular rachet binders because in my business you can never have enough securement equipment but I use these exclusively and have for probably the last five years and I will continue to use them I’ve had no problems with them I’ve had no breakages I’m completely happy
