How to make correct Left turn?

We should have a roundabout thread and how the right way to go around the roundabout is in the inside lane so ur trailer offtracks to the apron, like it was designed for.

Depending on how many lanes there is to turn left from.

If more then one left turning lane you use the one that’s outer most lane, basically not having anyone being able to turn left on your passenger side alongside you. This allows you to go forward as much as possible and into your turn and taking the lane as far on your right as possible. Also keep in mind to watch for cars on left side to not crunch them between center dividers if present.

that’s how I do it.

 

For a right turn, far right lane if two right turn lanes. Stay to the far left of the lane even over the line if you have to block traffic and let your intentions be clear. Then pull up slowly until traffic is stops and you can complete your turn. The reason you don't take the outer lane is because once you begin turning, it's much harder to see any cars on the blindside, whereas if you're in the inside lane, you can see what's going on in the lane next to you.

 

So make the turn in the turning lane and put yourself in the right lane after the turn is complete

 

If the lanes are marked, as they usually are, hopefully you'll be able to make the left from the marked left lane. You go to the outside lane of those lanes marked for a left hand turn. If it is only the very left hand lane marked for a left hand turn, that's the one you go to.
However, if you are in a tight place, you may need to block another lane to get enough room to make the left. But, you gotta be careful not to leave enough room on your left for a car to car in get in there and try to make the turn inside you. If that happens, you just gotta wait for them.
It is common that when making a right hand turn, especially in city conditions, that you have to pull up so far in order to give your trailer enough room to get around the corner, that you will be turning your truck itself into the opposing traffic lane. If that's the case, you just have to sit and wait for the traffic to clear enough for you to do that. Hopefully, someone who understands will see and stop far short of the intersection to give you the room you need. Regardless, you just have to sit and wait until traffic is clears enough for you to have the room to make the turn. You don't have a choice, you're a big heavy limited maneuvering ability vehicle. It takes the room it takes.
Also, on more than one occasion, I've had to stop a turn because my trailer was about to clip something. This happened to me in EL Paso with road construction going on. They had set up some portable Jersey barriers and there wasn't enough room to make the left. Gotta stop, whip on your flashers, wait till you have room to back up and work it until you can get around the corner. You will inconvenience other traffic, get over it. You're a big ugly rig trying to maneuver in places not readily designed for you to fit. Under no conditions do you hit anything. Even if, as a last resort, you end up calling the police so they can come and stop traffic and get you on your way.
I have had to get the police to block traffic once before. I was with my mentor and we were delivering to a place in a Corpus Christi strip mall, never designed for a semi to get into, and to back into where they could unload us required blocking 2 lanes of traffic on a busy frontage road right in front of the highway on ramp. It was also a blind back to make matters worse. Mentor called the Corpus Christi police, non emergency number, and told them what was going on. About half hour later a couple of cruisers showed up, stopped traffic for us and I spotted my mentor as he did the blind back. And then they left. We got u loaded and went on to the next load.

Ever see a sign on the back of trailers with an arrow that the person reading is in a bad spot? Like suicide?

If you were in the far left lane turning left you would most likely have to overtake the two right lanes to make the turn

That or just drag the trailer through all the cxxx
