For my first time. I’m going to Dayville CT, and Chesterfield NH.
I have my Garmin to depend on.
Do I have anything to worry about? As far as getting into trouble on any roads, bridges, etc???
I’ve heard all the stories. Stay away from New England and all that.
I can also use Hammer. A not bad GPS by Truckers Report.
Also have Co Pilot. But it just doesn’t work sometimes. Because it’s on peoplenet. Doh!

    Would appreciate any input.
I have a couple days to think.
Will be proceeding from delivery in Montgomery NY early Tue morning.

You'll be fine. No diff than any other metropolitan area. Just behave yourself and make sure you reserve a spot or park it early. That will be the biggest problem is finding a spot to shut down

Where are you coming out of? I used to go to Bow NH at least twice a week. It's really not a bad run, the worst part is the stretch of 84 that runs through Hartford CT, but even that isn't too bad. If you go the speed limit through there you'll get blown off the road.

I395 should run past Dayville, and after that find I91 north and it'll run you right into NH. Honestly an easy drive

And the stretch of 84 outside Scranton. I haven't been out that way in probably 8-10 months but some of those bridge joints will rattle your teeth out

They fixed a lot of them but I remember hitting my head off the ceiling of my 379 the first time I ever went out that way. Once I recovered I hit the throttle and realized it popped my truck out of gear lol that road would be awesome if it was paved

Know the difference between Parkways and thruway and highways.
And get a current commercial driver road atlas. A gps can get you in trouble.

From Montgomery straight shot to Danbury on I-84, then from Danbury, I84 to Hartford where you catch I-91 north to Brattleboro where you catch Rt 9 to Chesterfield. Pretty straight forward.

The TA in Willington CT doesn't fill up real fast, if at all. That's near your first stop. There's also a mom and pop truck stop with paid parking on the east side of Springfield MA that I've never seen filled to capacity, and they have some halfway decent food. There's quite a few little mom and pops that won't show up on your GPS but will have a few spaces. Just gotta keep an eye out as you pass by.

Overall there's a higher percent of box trucks and day cabs up that way. Stuff is closer together so there's less need for long haul. And a lot of the drivers are getting paid by the hour to compensate for traffic, and a lot of those will milk the clock by doing 10 under the speed limit everywhere they go. For extra safety, of course.

Every area has common driving quirks. Up that way everyone seems to drive all the way to the end of the entry ramp before looking to see if they can merge. Then they look and see you there and have a seizure because they've run themselves out of runway. There's places where you can see another one of them every half mile. There's another spaz, there's another spaz, there's another spaz.

The interstates are ok but a lot of the towns up that way are real tight since they were built a century before cars were invented, and they've been re-engineered to make the turns theoretically passable for a sleeper if you handle it just right. Take your time and do what you need to do - most of the people do understand its not easy and will happily gtfo your way. And watch for low bridges, there's tons of them that your GPS will be unaware of on the side roads.

When I was in the NE recently, the four wheelers were actually nicer and more patient than the four wheelers in Texas! Some tight spots up there, and I never once got honked at.
