I’m a rookie truck driver and I sometimes get nervous when I hold up traffic when I am parking. Did you guys go through that as well?

assuming this is at Truck stops and shippers/receivers. If so, don't stress it. Some of them might grumble. but ALL of them were once new just like you. It does get easier. Just look at my signature for my timeline. I'm getting better and faster at backing all the time. Even in those tight places. It's all about setup and patience.

Besides that, you will get a lot more nervous if you rush things and hit something.
Take your time and be safe.hidden1, born&raisedintheusa, meechyaboy and 13 others Thank this. -
well if that doesnt happen to you as a rookie, the you just arent human. Unless of course your momma gave birth to you while pulling a steep grade with a 379 longhood. Then bit the umbilical cord with her teeth , then sat your bloody arse up in the passenger seat

Anyone who gets mad about that isn't worth worrying about.

There is a lot of madness out there.
Like when I am passing a 60 truck going 65 and someone tries to rush up to pass me on the right.
Then honks at me or flips me off as he finally gets past me on the left.
Impatient people who don't plan their time right?born&raisedintheusa, God prefers Diesels, snowlauncher and 6 others Thank this. -
As long as you don't try to park at Loves or a lot of the Pilots it's a lot more stress free. Especially if you park at the random non major truck stops.
Any place that has every truck that fuels up going through the entire parking lot to leave are places that I avoid parking at. Now that I know where they all are at parking is a piece of cake and a lot quieter sleeping at night too.dshipman20, God prefers Diesels, snowlauncher and 3 others Thank this. -
It's callex the "hot seat" for a reason. I remember those days, lol.
