I thought that was it but I didn’t know that was the name of the area. Lol. It wasn’t ready the last time I was by there.

    @Wasted Thyme

Do you get a referral bonus for new drivers? My buddys brother wants to get his cdl, he's filling out a Stevens Transport app. He's a good kid, real sheltered. PM if you want.

Gosh, that sounds like its hard on the soul too!!
    Ugh, auto trans.. :biggrin_25512:
Has anyone even seen, or know of a million miler, or even say 900k + on one of these downsped 1000rpm luggers without a rebuild..?

But I'm with you. I'm more fearful something is going to give pulling a grade at 1200rpm than I am at 1600+ rpm..

In my case its probably safer to run that ol small cube Detroit at 1800 than 1000rpm..? But in actuality I "should" probably try harder to keep at 1650~1700ish for the long duration..

I've posted this before, but paragraph 3 is for Series 60 specific. Mine's an 1800rpm engine, says it fine to run it there..? Still feel better about myself when I can keep to 1700 for some unknown reason.. lol

When I had generators they started and went to 1800 immediately and stayed there till the power came back on. One was a 4cyl/45kw and one was a 6 cyl/105kw. I also had one with an air cooled deutz that ran like that for almost 3 days straight.

I'd like to find an air cooled duetz and build a hot rod to put it in.

See alot of them on generators and water pumps around here. I'd imagine it wouldn't be that hard to find one.

I know some people that probably have one. I think they'd suck for hot rod engine.

Just a few weeks ago single I was asking the same thing if there was any conclusive data of these new down sped engines running 1100 all day long. It seems a lot of these new pos turds are lucky to break 750k w/o an inframe. That's a ton of stress on the bottom end.

On the visor of both macks it says engine operation 1250-1800. When you have some fuel thrown to em it's even worse to lug them. I very seldom lug the 93 below 1450 even tho it will pull all the way down to 1250. I just can't bring myself to do it. Lately I split half a gear when it drops down to 1475-1500. Anything below 1400-1450 the pyro really heats up. Lots of times i cruise 70 at 1700.

Both trucks love 1550-1750. General rule of thumb for your operating range is when full boost picks up and when it drops off. For me that's 1450-1750.

Even at 1250 i would have tons of heat and no power.

When i started driving with my dad I was used to mainly DD15 running 1175 at 62mph Lol. I had to re learn all of my driving habits.

I dont doubt it. More of a rat rod is what I meant. Not necessarily fast but odd

Beautiful day on Saturday. I went to the beach again. There was a small demonstration on the waterfront organized by merchants, sellers, store and kiosks owners, vendors, etc. against the lockdown.
There were less than 100 people. They were calling Rio's mayor an hypocrite... denouncing him of taking the money for building hospital for COVID and not building anything... They were also asking the mayor of Rio to end the restrictions and let the people work, and also demanding from him evidence that the lockdown reduces the contagion of COVID. :protest:

And there were people on the beach... not many though...
