25 years ago, seems like a different life/person when you think about it. Residential burglary conviction my record. Me and 3 other idiots got same charge for taking some petty items from a former friends house that owed money.
Anyways, couple of decades down the road I have held same job In management for 17 years (company closed last year from covid losses)- a family man etc etc
I'm going through driving school, finishing in 2 weeks - already have endorsements.
I apllied at OD trainee position and was already in with a interview recently that went perfectly!
My next step is to send a copy of my license in when I get it by the end of April then come in for drug test and background check & I have the job!
I have a clean 10 year driving record
But,
I have that stupid thing I did 25 years ago? So do I stay optimistic for this contingent offer from OD or start looking for more felony friendly companies right away? -
Keep the hope alive man, you can worry about it later, if you don't get the job.Coffey Thanks this.

25 years you should be good. The first year you may not get the best job but after that 12-14 month experience the whole world will open up to you. I have 4 home burglaries, 3 duis. And and two police chases. A couple simple assaults. Oh man was I a wild child, that was in between 1999 and 2003. Trucking really frowns on sex charges. None of those and your usually good. Like I said. The first trucking job may be craps but its like that even for thos of us that don't have a record. I did 4yrs and 8 months. The thing about it is. We as felons get told no so often at the beginning of turning are selfs around we tend to get it in out heads that no will always be what we will get.
What you have to pay attention to on the applications is one question. Some will ask you have you EVER had a felony, and some will ask you if you had a felony in the last x amount of time. Just be honest. And you will be fine. I have 9 felonies and a hazmat card. So yeah man come on over.Coffey Thanks this. -

Cool, thanks for the response I appreciate the optimisium! I have a feeling most transportation companies stick with standard 10 year that DOT requires but this is no reason to lie about it if it states (have ever) in the background question. I feel you just got to trust in what comes around goes around and honesty will prevail - maybe, eventually!
