A friend of mine thinks the same with a little difference. He's at 12% and has a dispatcher. Rates much higher than typical Mercer stuff.

I'm still at a 74-75% with the company I'm leased to, but much better overall rates.

I just ran a direct freight military load with a Mercer driver a few weeks ago. I was almost double "to the truck" money and his rate wasn't terrible.

Although I'm happy he's doing well at Mercer, roshea seems to believe he's the rule.

He’s been with Mercer a long time and knows what works well for him and where he runs CJ is another who has found his niche at Mercer
Like I said I didn’t do bad at Mercer but have never run the rates rushea has but I have known a few who have some of them have left and are doing even better I think my biggest save is not dead heading near as far for good freight most are under 100 miles never more than 150 miles for me with Mercer it was normal to dh 150 to 300 for good paying freight

to keep this simple I keep track of what I negotiate and how much I make that is equal to what I made at Mercer which on average is 20% less than what I negotiate

    Well Hello all.

I see many of the same faces are around. I hope everyone is doing well. I know I'm still happy here but I may not be the best spokesman here as I am pretty specialized in the Mercer community and don't really reflect what the norm may or may not be. I do know there have been several changes here over the last few years that have made some unhappy and I'm sure there will be plenty more in the future (like the new insurance rates in July).

I would only say if you are thinking of coming here do your research and ask plenty of questions. Find something that separates you from the others here and then sale yourself.

I just glanced at the board while writing this and rates look pretty good. Not as good as what I'm making but I don't work the board like I did a few years ago.

The thing with Mercer is you can make as much or as little here as you want. A busy week for me now is if I have to full my tank every Monday with more than 100 gals of fuel. And if I have to put 200 in I know I busted my rear the week before and am probably about to take a few weeks off.

I know this, everyone's numbers will be different. What I do won't work for many but it works for me. Find your thing and do what's right for you. Here there or anywhere. Most important is be safe and try to be happy.

Oh wish I had seen you. Yeah that TA is how I start my week most often. If you saw me yesterday I was starting it. Would be great to get together and catch up. Just yell when you are near, I'm home a lot (heading back there now).

So you have a true bulkhead built in or are you just talking about the headboard being used for hanging gear on?

I have what Mercer requirements are and a bit more. Look you have ? Pls a ask them. I will not say come here because I don't know what t you are after. I LOVE IT HERE! So talk to others if you want to hear bad please. Mercer treats me well. Cameras, logs. Other stuff? They don't bother me. I run 1500 miles a week on a BUSY week.

My Niche, No not everyone will do that. Most are just to lazy to try. @ all the names I KNOW are still here, be safe. THANKS for all the info you gave me.

    Last note..

All companies are bad (yes at times) No company can please everyone. No driver/owner op will ever be happy. The real old timers know a better time. Yet live with today.

You can run your numbers and pay for your insurance without these cameras that I keep hearing about (never seen one for my truck).

Seems few mention the fuel discount? Well I get good rates but I always pay attention to my fuel rate.

    Sorry, I know 90 percent of you do to. So I kinda need to know where this (stuff) is coming from?;

I miss a lot of you. But I haven't been on here because once again I'm home.

I was happy with that time when I came here. But if anyone ( beside maybe @Mott ) knows it takes work? Well them....

I got off the post. Not because I was done but because I was HOME!

    I have more then needed.

I get the question. I'm here and everyone want to bash. O/O I get. Many forget the $98 I spend a month for full cover on my 16 WS that many said I couldn't afford here ( we won't even talk about the con)

    To all,

You can make it anywhere if you work. Many might be at Prime (MY RECURTTER WAS) OR Landstar or SNI just do wats good for you.

Me? With all all the new changes? They don't t change my day to day op. Soooo I'm here and do do a prob. But I do see the dilemma

TBH? Cams are good. DRIVER facing came I'm not sure with. BUT if I'm a pro and doing nothing wrong???? I'm a professional wrigh?

Hey we can all get new jobs, or just retire?

If enough quit then I'll get a great rate. And all I can say is thanks.

    Here comes the hate.......
