Does EZ Pass work at that stretch of I70 just west of Kansas City? That one is easy to get around but I'm usually too lazy or trying to make time. Haven't been there in awhile but I was thinking that one wasn't EZPass. Has it changed?

Actually I lied. I have prepass, ezpass and bestpass all installed, and bestpass is the one that does the tolls. The bestpass and ezpass came together in a unified case which eventually melted from the sun, so they told me it's no problem, just install each one separately any they'll work the same. So I think it's the combination that handles all tolls, with bestpass doing the unified billing. And yes the combo does do k-tag.

Based in PA, I have PA EZ-Pass. $17 transponder, $500 replenishment when balance hits $100. Disputes have to be snail mailed in, but I didn't have any issues getting refunded erroneous NY Thruway charges (included my Keeptruckin location map printout for the day in question).

Pikepass (transponder sticker is free) for KS and OK and (I think) most of TX?

Drivewyze app for scale prepass more than pays for the $17/month in saved time and fuel.

I just went over everything on the BestPass website and some PDF's, and they say 100% coverage across America. Looks like you might need BestPass Horizon for Kansas. It's their regional solution. I don't know for sure. But I'm really leaning towards BestPass.

I use best pass in KS frequently - it works no problem.

Which version of BestPass do you use? And you said it "ties in with scale pass". Is that the scale bypass you went with? Or are you using something else like PrePass?

I know you didn't ask me but I'll answer anyway in case it's not the same. My prepass handles 90% of my scales and my bestpass handles a few others. But I think the bestpass handles quite a few in the Pacific northwest, which I haven't spent much time in lately.

Man, I always feel bad for you drivers in the Midwest and east coast with the toll roads. That's something we don't have here in the west. I have bay area bridge tolls here in NorCal, but it's $25 per crossing, and I rarely need to use it, maybe once a month. The last toll road I was on was Austin TX well over a year ago. The sign said that they would mail an invoice to the address listed on the license plate. I used the heck out of those toll roads and never got a bill.
