The ends of the factory coax cable on my truck are split in half, CB still works fine but I was wondering if there was any way to replace just the ends? They're routed through the mirror mounts and really don't want to attempt to replace the entire cable
Can you replace the end of a coax cable?

Yes, I got one off Amazon. They sell either the solder type or the compression type.
Dave1837 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
They also have screw on type. They work fine. Work exactly like cable tv coax ends. A dab of solder helps an the tip.

Do I just cut the old end off and slide the new one on? Then solder inside where the wire comes through?

Try and determine how much you can trim off coax,,,some provide very little extra coax, yes solder the where the wire comes through. If coax has been getting corroded use Silicone Caliper lube, its clear and sticks without bonding

I like a butane soldering iron for vehicles.
You can get one at Home depot.
Also buy solder wire and flux.
Use a wet wash cloth to clean the tip regularly.
When you are done, clean the tip with flux and damp wash cloth and coat the tip with solder.
The solder tip should always be coated with solder.handlebar Thanks this. -
