I thought the chocolate milk haulers are the ones with the honey wagons?

Kind of how it is down here in eastern NM and west TX. Several milk hauling outfits and drivers seem to bounce between all companies within a year or two of each before ending right back up at the one they started out. Relatively low pay and long hours for the farm pickups, yet some drivers think it's better at XYZ hauling down the street.

Typical take home each week for me when I was doing farm pickup for four years varied. Hitting 4-7 farm pickups in a "local" area each night had me working 14-16 hours easily and only bringing in about $160-$240/night. When I ran for Ruan(and currently Indian River), I made more money doing the "one farm" pickups where I dealt with a dairy four hours away that had a silo "making" every 16-20 hours. These particular "long runs" made me about $270-$320/night due to both "loading pay" and mileage pay being factored in. Made up my own schedule for that operation and simply relayed the "next silo ready" to dispatch based on what the herdsman told me. I was usually starting at 5pm-7pm and got back home by 3a-5a depending on whether I took a roadside catnap between Clovis and Willard(Ruan), or Clovis and Perryton(IRT).

Needless to say, those cake runs didn't last too long and I was back on the whole, "start at 1pm one day, then start at 3pm the next day until all farm pickups are finished". Until I quit the whole loading thing and went back to just shuttling pre-loaded tankers to the local plants for unload. Now I'm doing regional, NM-TX-CO and back hauls since the local shuttling was eliminated. Pay is currently still good doing even this. But if I want to utilize my other endorsements and make more, got to suck it up and relocate.

I think at least for me, being mentally healthy is staying close by my family. Seeing my sons everyday, being able to put noah in bed every night. Hes 3 and follows me everywhere when I'm home. Not to mention my wife of 17 years.

Mental health means different things for different people. I'm also not bothered by local work. Driving a milk truck doesn't mean big cities. Its rural driving and towns. I once went into south buffalo at 4am, was the closest I've come to city

    Wow. Just wow.

Dont talk smack about a truck driver with food in your mouth, cloths on your back, a home to live in, a car, roads and bridges or anything else people need. None of this happens without US, all of us. Each and every single one of us.

I find his rhetoric absolutely disgusting and vile. He should go live the woods naked and hunt for his own food.

I do think as a group of people we should all take efforts to eliminate the unfair reputation of being pigs. Throw out your trash, loose the sandals, and don't leave pee bottles laying around. That goes for all of us.

Don't ever give a good God #### it about what other people think. About anything.
