Also, if you feel the need to speed, you are in the wrong profession.Bean Jr., Accidental Trucker, Roberts450 and 3 others Thank this. -
Never heard of that happening...
Your ELD device does record your speed I'm sure, but the officer should not be able to access that. They should only be able to see your 8 days logs, HOS, etc. I suppose they could look at the amount of time it takes for you to get from point A to point B and question that, but I don't see how that could really result in a speeding ticket unless you were going a hundred miles an hour.Doealex Thanks this. -
I had an officer in St.Paul, MN scale house ask me once during the inspection what speed was I traveling through Chicago area after looking at my paper log book. I told her I didn't remember all my speeds (too many limits for different vehicles in the area). I guess she was trying to figure out my average speed and was looking for a confession; she gave me a clean inspection sticker that time. My take is if your average speed is not 5 or over the speed limit, then you should be OK but I am not so sure if things are the same now with ELDs and especially in Kalifornia.

I remember being told that this could happen way back in trucking school. Never met anyone or heard about anyone that it actually happened to though.

Oregon used to do it years ago based on Prepass scale times.
