I have not driven a car in a long time but I have a clean driving record. Would that look really bad to a potential employer training me for a CDL A?
There's always a community college that could train me but it is going to cost me some money AND I have to take a city bus to the training area.
I thought about being a trucker many times, last time was in 2018 and man I am down because my father just turned 70 and I got this mid life crisis going on because I haven't been sucessful due to a mental breakdown I had 11 years ago.
Hey be safe out there, looking forward to hearing from you all. Peace.

As long as you have a car drivers license you're ok.
No need to mention you haven't been driving, so keep that to yourself.
The nervous breakdown will be a problem if you talk about it.
How long ago were the wrecks and DUI?

If he has been under a Doctors care for it he will. I am also sure there has been quite a bit of medication involved as well. Chinatown, you really know better than to dispense advice like that. It certainly is not the first time you have encouraged people to lie on a federal form. Yes.....the long form is a federal form. This is 2021 not 1971. Honestly, if the OP has mental issues, truck driving is probably one of the least preferred options for employment.

For a variety of reasons, and with no judgement involved.

With all the lazy pieces of crap who won’t go back to work, depending on the state you live in see if the local work force will pay for you to go to a CDL, school, they have grants set up for that. As long as you don’t have a criminal record and a valid license without a bunch of tickets you will be good, also several big companies pay for schooling if you work thro

OP has been dealing with serious mental health issues. He will need to jump through many hoops before he can even think about qualifying for a Medical Card. Without the above mentioned issues......sure.....any idiot can get a CDL....I got mine!

Seeing STexans picture is making me reconcider Trucking. I know I would prefer local but other than a DUI once I did get in a few accidents. But I was young and stupid.
My options are to become a mailman, study for the test, apply.
Become a Trucker, a potential dangerous job
Was thinking of radiology at community college. Learn more about anatomy and patient care and get a sweet job.
Im not sure how ill end up.
