Call me crazy but I kind of enjoyed going to NYC. Growing up in the sticks my whole life it was pretty cool to be inside a major city that you've only ever seen on TV shows

Anything running only I10, 20 or 95 south of Richmond, I’m tired of 70, 80, 90, 94 and anything east coast.

There's no better scenery than running:
wait for it:
Cross Bronx Expressway
After seeing that , you know if you are anywhere else, the scenery is better.Speed_Drums and Dave1837 Thank this. -

New one to add...I ran US 48 west from exit 296 on I-81 in VA to RT 50 in Mt. Storm in WV and it's by far the nicest road I've ever driven in my life. Not sure if I'd like it at 80k, but empty it was a dream come true. 2 lanes up and down a mountain for about 15 miles, then it opens up to a cement 4 lane highway for the next 60+ miles. Hardly any traffic at all, no bumps, no construction, beautiful scenery. After doing some research I found that the road was actually designed as a "getaway" route for the president if any catastrophic event were to occur.

Altho I've only been on it once, one of my favorites is US89 from Panguitch, UT to Flagstaff.
Another is the route I took from Wenatchee, WA down to 84 in OR... WA28-WA281-I90-US97-I84.
My favorite consistent route started at KS156, west of Salinas, to US56, to US54, down to I40 in Tucumcari. Always better than taking 80.
