Try a new way of approach?
Different method of teaching or some such?
It’s been years since I was in a classroom but very few teachers I still remember, that stood out.
One, was SGM Adams, he passed several years ago. He was an excellent teacher and mentor, never got loud.
He taught a lot of classes including business and money management and to PYF(pay yourself first) that’s helped me out in my life.
Also after school..(and sometimes during class.. )we had a rifle range, we’d have tournaments with pellet rifles.

Another was Mr Free, he had a stroke, and walked with a cane and was paralyzed on his left side. He once threw me out of class.
But he was a good teacher, I just didn’t like his lecture on civics/US history and I told him so.
Now I figure history is not taught why it happened but it didn’t happen and since we know it didn’t happen it’ll happen again, because we, as a people, don’t know any better.
Sadly both have now passed away, but I could tell them I now understand.

But it’s what you do, even if it’s donating time after school to start up a program, such as rifle team with pellet rifles, or even if it’s a color guard ceremony raising the flag, and lowering it after hours.
It’s the little things that’s remembered.
Or is my mind...

Trucking on and off between military and working in truck shops ( dealers)
I have had a CDL since shortly after the change in late 88 or 90 when the CDL became the norm.
Trucking has made me more crabby everyday and a great dislike for a minority in this industry. Mostly the ones that have no regard for anyone but themselves, ones that choose to trash facilities,
The trashy pigs we have as drivers.
Still like the peace and solitude of driving out west.
Always have been a cynical prick and a dislike for most people. Now other than my wife and immediate family I rather not be around people much. Especially truck drivers.

 

Why waste time with a bottom feeder? Go for what you want out of the gate.

 

Took a female friend to a national forest. She wanted her 14 yr old daughter to ride along. I warned them that there’s no phone signal in the national forest. Sure enough, the girl lost her internet. Suddenly the bombardment of complaints started, “Mom, I’m getting bored. MOM, I’m getting bored! MOM, I’M GETTING BORED!!!!”
So...what happens when you get bored?

She had no idea. I know what happens. Your mind starts to drift and replays scenes of your life, particularly your biggest screwup. It will settle on a screwup and keep playing it over and over again. And some voice tells you how stupid you are. Do you know what that voice belongs to?

“God?”

No, it it the person that you are supposed to become. The Ultimate You.

We put so much effort in avoiding boredom, when that is exactly where the unoccupied mind wants to take up. Trucking allows for this.

 

Keep this in mind in this industry it may or may not effect you.
This industry will wear you down and spit you out if you let it.
Try not to let yourself of fall into the trap of being lazy and no regard for anyone else. unfortunately this industry is full of pigs and will make you question the path of humanity.
Try to stay active depression is bad for some. If possible when your on your own take time to enjoy things.
Don’t let the log book run you, you run the log book.
Don’t get in a hurry in parking lots or customer lots.
I own my own company. But take pride in yourself snd pride in your job and equipment. Don’t fall into the mentality of “it isn’t my equipment why should I care”.
that piece of equipment provides for you and your family.
