So here’s the deal. I’ve been with the company I’m driving for now for a little while.
Unfortunately it’s changing owners and a lot of other things.
The new owners (bobs kids) don’t care about getting us home on time, keeping us regional or set reasonable appointment times. They did increase pay which blew me away (by 2 cpm lol)
So I’m at 52 and run 2500-2800per week.
the new company has fewer trucks flexible hometime and says I’ll only run the areas I want to 90% of the time. I hate being east of Memphis. However their pay is seriously lacking to the tune of .38-45cpm
Taking a pay cut

Well
Can you cover your bills still live a decent life?
Family and happiness comes before work Imo. if you’re driving a truck never home and miserable what’s the point?pagan22, Hazmat Cat, Canadianhauler21 and 5 others Thank this. -
When the kids take over the business it never ends well, IMO.
Western flyer, Hulld, Speed_Drums and 12 others Thank this. -
If money is important then maybe stay where you are and keep looking for something you think you’d like and pays what you are used to.
Myself, I’m staying with a lower pay, still good, just not as much as I can make. I’m doing it because I can’t find anything I think I’d enjoy as much. Happiness comes first, IMO. -
Another thing to think about is if you took the lower pay, it may cause you to feel under paid and you’ll still be looking. On of the important things when you are new is to get time and stable driving record and history behind you. You don’t want to start job hopping. So be sure as you can before moving. I say keep looking until a better offer comes at the pay you are used to.
Just passing by Thanks this. -

That said, if the only other thing only holding you back is the pay, you can tell them you will take the job but demand a higher pay. They might surprise you.Last edited: May 13, 2021
