Yeah it's an easy run now. There's really only one way in and out cause of all the weight and length restrictions lol

Week 3 of solo driving is almost complete. I have to say, as of now I couldn't be happier. This is some of the easiest work I've ever done!!

I haul coal tar out of US Steel in Clairton PA, 24/7 loading, and deliver to Conshohocken PA, 24/5 unloading. I roll into Clairton around midnight, load and get out to Conshy around 05:00 and get empty. Loading is a piece of cake, scale in, drive to the rack, push the start button and scale out. If I'm ever held up due to a line of trucks, they have no problem paying detention.

My 2nd loading spot is out of United Refining in Warren PA. This place can be a little tricky. They give you a gallon estimate to load when you light weigh, but it's usually not accurate. I did the math myself (weight per gallon) and loaded 5,470 gallons and I scaled out at 79,380. The estimate I was given was 5,630 gallons...This delivers to Conshohocken as well. Unloading both products is a cinch, open the dome lid and BS to the unloader for 20 mins then scale out lol

My first week I was told I could take some time off being I was away from home for a week and a half (orientation plus possible covid exposure) so I took off Thursday through Sunday. My second week I killed it. I was just shy of 3,100 miles for the week and I wasn't even wore out. A few things that I find awesome are, they pay me my regular mileage rate to drive home for the weekend (310 miles). They add 25% to my mileage rate (comes out to $.62 cpm) if my net weight is over 25 tons, which it always is. And so far I've made it home at least twice weekly. 24/7 dispatch is awesome, bills and trip sheets are all done on my phone, and truck/trailer maintenance has been spot on so far. Glad I made the move!!

They seem to really be upping their incentives down here in Florida on the bulk divisions, definitely has peaked my interest a bit.

There were 2 people from Miami in my orientation via Zoom. Unfortunately, they make less money than the Northeast. Probably because the rates are lower down there? I'm not too sure. From what everyone up here says, business is booming for them down there

Things have been going great! I've been running at night, which I prefer, pretty much setting my own schedule, and the pay has been fantastic. I've generally been taking home between 13 and 1600 a week. The work I do is extremely easy, everywhere I have been I have been treated very well by both shippers and receivers, and dispatch never bothers me!
