2013 KW T660 leaf spring pins/ bushing replacement

Usually the rears are what wear, I would say buy new rear mount, price isnt much different than bushing. Atleast for my T800 it wasnt much.
I use hyd jack between spring and frame to release tension for disassembly.
A hammer and air chisel will remove spring bushing, I've had good success putting pin in new bushing and using flat end of pin as a driver to install new bushing.
If you have the rubber pins I would convert back to the threaded style, seem to last longer.

 

Definitely go with the greaseable, threaded style. Those rubber bushings are junk IMO.

 

I have seen were it’s a 50/50 deal whether the bottom bushing in the spring is bad. It is usually just the top one in the hanger that supports all the weight and wears out towards its top. Half the time the pin in the spring itself just gets pitted from moisture in the grease but the bushing is ok. I’ve seen the top pins worn down 1/4 of their size and bushings just pull out with pliers because they are eaten away.

You can see the bushing in the spring is still good. Hanger pin and bushing took the beating. These however have been in this truck since Feb. of 1982.
