Most of FL's interstates prohibit trucks over 6 wheels in the left lane when there is 3 or more lanes as well. Georgia has had the same restriction for as long as I can remember.

When I was OTR I drove in the right lane. After switching to local I pretty much always stay in the middle. I simply don't have time for idiot 4 wheelers being unable to merge. For the most part it doesn't matter because I rarely see semis merging or taking my route anyway.

If you take 75/85 Downtown atlanta, you will get absolutely ####ed staying in the right lane. I think the rule of thumb is that if you're city driving you do not drive in the right lane. I've also observed that other local trucks(UPS/fedex/etc) never stay in the right lane unless they're about to take an exit.

Great minds think alike. I know once I get in that type of cluster, I’m not getting anywhere fast safely. Might as well chill and let them do their thing

Simple courtesy. I don't care what the speed limit is or how fast I'm driving. If someone behind is driving faster i move over and let him go...

Oklahoma City has some completely belligerent drivers. A few times. I’ve been in right lane. Someone moving pretty fast. They stop on left side of my truck. When obviously there is a flood merging onto the freeway. I don’t need that S!

Driving with the “idiot 4 wheelers” as you say is part of our “Hazardous Occupation”. We deal with it. Stay in the right lane only and use the passing lane as it’s described, “passing lane”.

The irony of the whole subject is that there seems to be a large amount of people who want other people to obey their interpretation of road signs, so that they can ignore the speed limit signs that are not really open to interpretation.

The middle lane isn't a passing lane. That's the far left, and it only applies when driving on the interstate unless specified otherwise. There is absolutely no reason why I need to drive in the right lane if I'm moving with the flow of traffic. If you want to pass me going 80+ while I'm in the middle, then you use the passing lane.

That's a great idea, until I encounter you doing under the speed limit, and then I see this sign.

So, if you wanna hang out in the center, and I can't be in the left lane, I absolutely will pass you on the right. Don't be offended by it, it's just business
