Well you didn't read it all, only certain loads fall under exemption, and you need some proof to show DOT, you can't just run it how you want.....that's how you guys will get a bunch of violations and then come on here crying about it....

I know only certain things fall under the exemption. I don’t hardly ever use it unless the customer is sitting there waiting for my load to take to their stores, which has happened a few times. You were stating absolutely false information about having to take a 10 hour break between emergency loads. If I get a ticket I certainly won’t be on here crying about it.

Actually based on the above you are both right. It's not required, but as stated the best practice is to have it on there. Why? Because DOT is gonna look for reasons to nail you. Having it on there will make it clear your load is exempt. Perhaps try having a discussion. Rather than a urinating match.

How is he right? He flat out said it’s required that you have something stating that you have an exempt load. That is completely false. If someone new comes on here looking for advice and reads this topic, they would have gotten completely false information. Just because it helps with the DOT, doesn’t mean it’s required. Plain and simple.

I was simply trying to correct the legality of the exemption, but of course it got into an argument, it's true truckers couldn't even agree on what shade of blue the sky is much less agree on what's legal and proper lol

Exempt or not I wouldn't rely on the little paper saying exempt protect you unless you have some Leo tell you I wouldnt go outside any HOS which case you make sure you get there badge number and you have camera record him it saying that. I record all Leo's equally when I encounter one only exceptions being my relative and even he said he would also do that. hes a 25 year retired police then went became a Sheriff deputy he loves it so much that and its all he knows.

It's not legal to PC when you're under a load.

Covid exemption letters have nothing to do with that.

Under a load has nothing to do with PC any longer. You can be loaded and use a (valid) PC for whatever the guidance allows.
