The Russian accent should be a deal breaker for you. If him not wanting to meet in his office doesn't tip you off, then you're completely oblivious to reality.

Seemed a little weird but I wanted in the tanker worldFlaSwampRat and Lepton1 Thank this. -
It did that's why Im here. From my short time in trucking so far. Everyone's complaining about something or other in a company. But if the majority says same then there's a good chance of said complaints to be true.

Line Haul is driving the 18 wheelers. P and D is driving the delivery vans.
Most Line Haul contractors are looking for "Team Drivers". That is who they pay the biggest money to.
There are very few solo gigs at Fedex Ground. They usually pay 50 - 60 cpm to solo drivers.
Team dedicated drivers usually get 55 to 65 cpm and there are quite a few gigs where you can be home 2 days a week.
The problem with 5 day work weeks is it is basically getting slightly more than a 34 hour reset. You are barely rested when it is time to go back on the road.
Wild teams get the most because they are harder to find. They are not dedicated. They have to hustle the work they get. There are apps that the line haul office assigns runs. You have to let them know that you are at a terminal and waiting for a run via the app.
The teams that get the most miles are using the app and going into the off ice looking for runs. They are telling the office that they want miles. The more the better. They are willing to run some local runs to help the office in hopes of getting a good run later.
Sometimes you have to wait. Usually not very long but I have seen 12 hour waits. The good teams are aware of terminals that get a lot of loads and try to go to those terminals. They are aware of terminals that have very few runs on the weekend so they try not to go to those terminals on Friday night or Saturday because you can get held there until Monday morning. these really good teams are trying to be friendly with and get to know the line haul office personnel including the managers.
A highly productive team can routinely run 6000 per week and up to 8000 miles per week. The wild team drivers can get 70 to 75 cpm .
Let me help you with the math. For 6000 miles that is $2100 each. For 7000 miles that is $2450 each. For 8000 miles that is $2800 each.
A lot of these wild teams stay out for several weeks at a time and take 1 week off at a time. They make a lot of money but they have to be able to live with that life style. So do their families.Long FLD Thanks this. -
