Can anyone tell me what my problem may be. I have a freightliner century and when I put it in gear the rear axle turns but the other axle doesn't and the truck will not move.

Does locking in power divider help?
Rear axle is the pull axle, unless you lock in the divider, I’d say the rear end went out, you can limp it to a shop if you have a power divider lock -
I engaged power divider and nothing happened.

Not good.
Could be through shaft.
Big Road Skateboard Thanks this. -

Both axles drive all the time. Locking in the power divider just means both axles are forced to turn together at the same speed.
Unlocked its a balancing act between all 4 wheel ends. Lose traction on one or break a component and you lose that balance and now you sit.Stray_Dog, dibstr, InTooDeep and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you ever get that rear axle over a hole/high center, that rear axle will turn and spin in the air.
Locking the power divider, allows other axle to pull.
If not, you are stuck, get a wrecker, or a flatbedder with a chain.
I figure it’s a broke axle.
But maybe, by some thoughts it’ll end up he just has a flat. -
Jack up any corner of your drive axles and put truck in gear, that wheel in the air will spin. Set it down and jack up a different end and it will spin. Do it with all 5 wheel ends and the one in the air will spin every time
