Agreed. Get it fixed today or they pay for a hotel room tonight. If it's not fixed today route me to a terminal for a new truck. Oh, if the terminal is more than a days drive, you'll need another hotel room.

    Rideandrepair and bzinger Thank this.

I hope you guys aren't idling at night or when you're not driving. Cause idling is bad. If you can't sleep, you're just not tired enough.

We’ve got several 2021 cascadia day cabs. At least two of em have the same issue as in the first post. Brand new trucks. I’m driving a 2014 cascadia that has a few quirks but the ac blows ice.

I went 2 summer’s without it, about 7-8 yrs ago. After buying 2 York compressors within a few months. Bought my last one on a Sunday at the TA in Lafayette La. It lasted about a month. I said never again. Took Me a while to figure out exactly all I needed to swap to a Sanden. Since then, I’ve only been without it once. Had a small condenser leak, in a hurry, I added a can upside down, and split the compressor wide open. Again on a Sunday in the south. Had my wife with Me, so I bought a 800 btu portable and a 2000w Generator at WallyWorld. $800 wasted. Lol. Only cooled good enough at night. Current compressors going on 6 yrs. Worth the wait. After changing at least 8 York’s out, over 13 yrs. on 2 different Trucks. I hate York compressors.

I like how they tell you no AC is not a safety issue. But they give you safety videos all the time that tells you if you don't sleep enough it's a safety problem. I get that you can eventually adapt to it, but I'm not adapted and they were expecting me to keep going.

"Just roll your windows down.. problem solved..."

Parking in a major city with your windows rolled down is just not a smart idea. Besides I tried that anyway and it didn't do anything.

Freightliner needs to get that figured out. The 2021s were having the same problem still. The '18 Freightliner AC worked perfectly! It never had a problem. But that first truck was my only comfortable summer. The problem for me started when it switched from "opti-idle" over to "interior comfort" which I started calling it interior discomfort.
