I will make this as short and sweet as possible.

CID is located outside of Brookston, Indiana. Fred Schrader is the owner. They are a small flat bed company that does work mainly step deck work for FBI buildings out of Remington, Indiana. They also do some low-boy work for Milestone out of Lafayette and small end dump work with rock. They have 4 trucks as of now with two of them with full-time drivers. They are hiring for company drivers and drivers to lease on to them.

Even though it will be obvious to someone who knows the situation to recognize myself and/or the owner of the truck I drove for. I do not want to get specific about my semi owner or his own company name.

I drive the semi. The owner was leased to CID. There were several issues that eventually led to our trucks being pulled from CID. I came in right as the trouble began. I did CID work for two months.

Issue #1 and this is the top problem: Alcohol. Fred starts drinking early in the day, everyday, and this is how the paper work and dispatches get mixed up. He will not remember things he told you to do. Then when FBI complains about a driver doing something Fred told you to do on the jobsite. Fred will throw you under the bus and call you on phone. He will not be very nice about it. It makes him even more upset when you point out he told you to do this and he forgot. Dispatches will get mixed up and you will sit for possibly hours waiting for your next dispatch. He will not pay my semi owner for this. However part of this issue is the dispatcher at FBI. FBI offers to pay for this, but Fred refuses to accept it. He tells you "thats how truckin works". The final mix up that ended my time at CID was being dispatched the wrong loaded trailer and getting all the way to the Iowa state line and being told to turn around and bring it back. This was early in the morning. I had left out at 1am to make sure the load was there by noon that day. Then I was told I still had to be in Minnesota by 5am their time the next day! This was impossible to do legally. This failed dispatch was blamed on me even though I grabbed the load that was on the BOL that was sent to me. BOL was for same jobsite and material on trailer. The load I grabbed and BOL was suppose to go to another company that drivers for FBI. Everyone else, including FBI buildings knew it was a mistake on their part and Fred's part. The other semi was pulled the week before by my semi owner and Fred terminated myself that day. I was unaware of this until my semi owner informed me why Fred was ignoring my text and phone calls of me wanting to know me next day dispatch. This is part of the immaturity and he will sit at the bar and bad mouth drivers that made mistakes that were his fault. This major mistake and others, would have been prevented if alcohol wasn't doing the dispatching.

Issue #2: Payment for loads. The person that does my semi owner's books noticed extra money being taken off the load payments and some loads, not even being paid for at all! 100 dollars here and there. He was presented with physical proof of this and fixed this. However this is an every week thing. Drinking while doing the books and just flat out being a greedy jerk is why this is happening. He acts like a tough guy and when he is presented with facts. He backs down. We are still waiting for our last two weeks of work payment. He is refusing to pay as of now. This is protected by contract and laws.

Issue #3: The lease truck will get the crap work while his company drivers get the cake walk high paying loads. Despite you being in the area. He will send you out of your way to a crap show jobsite that tears your truck up getting to it or you spend way too much time at it. Then sends his driver to the backhaul you could have gotten that is close to your area. This cost my semi owner extra deadhead fuel cost and wear and tear. Now I understand its not Fred's fault that I am in a long nose, 379, sleeper truck. However if you make him upset in anyway. Get ready to take your semi on a wild ride in the middle of nowhere. Most of the time the address and directions you are sent are wrong. Then it is blamed on the driver and you spend more unpaid time trying to find something that is actually 10-20 miles the other way. Lots of times he had me go to a jobsite. Load up the leftovers and equipment. Unload the leftovers at FBI and reload the equipment. Then Drop that trailer so his company driver can deliver it the next morning. This is basically having us do unpaid labor so his drivers can go home early and be preloaded. The detention pay is 1 hours free for yard time or jobsite time. Then after that is when we get paid detention.

CID is a nightmare for lease. Also previous company drivers didn't have much nice to say either. There is just way to much to list. I listed and explained the top issues.

Sounds like most of your problems involve dealing with the FBI. Watch yourself, I understand they have informants everywhere.

Oh believe it or not, you didn’t get the long version. It was a normal daily thing to deal with. I rather give information instead of constantly replying if I get asked a bunch of questions :D
